Our mission organization, FinisTerre, recently sent a new family to do ministry in Madang. The Ruscios only arrived in PNG in July, so they are just starting to learn PNG culture and the trade language. As part of their orientation, they came up to stay in the bush for a week. We SO enjoyed getting to know them. Frank and Jacklyn have three boys and a girl, so it was a fun week for our kids, too!
Eki gave them a proper welcome:
We set up a time for our friend Yase to give them their own bows and some archery lessons:
Their boys spent hours each day shooting at a target (a banana tree stump) with Jude and Oliver.
Zach took them on a hike to the Kuso river:
Lots of kids interested in these new white people:
Frank got to practice his language skills by introducing himself at church:
The Ruscios got to see lots of interactions between us and our friends here, ask questions, etc, so we trust it was a helpful time. It certainly was a joy having them.
A couple other pics of the kids:
The boys got to play D&D with their auntie on FaceTime. So fun for them:
Stickers :)
Storytime:
It was so good to have fellowship with the Ruscios, an encouragement after being on our own for three months. And we are thankful to the Lord for sending a new family to serve in Madang!
