Last month we got to take a break in Australia! Our first stop was to the town of Madang where we spent several days with the Twomblys and the Ruscios.
I have basically zero pictures, but we LOVED our time with them.
In Australia, we stayed on the Gold Coast, a bit north, in a sweet Paradise Point neighborhood with lots of parks and restaurants along the water. We went to Costco and ate good food and played in the ocean and felt so refreshed and thankful for our time! Here are some pictures.
My mom and Zach's mom flew over and stayed with us for the first half of our trip. SO great to see them and we miss them already!
The grandmas loved on our kids and got to have one-on-one time with each of them.
Though the Gold Coast is a tourist destination, our rest looked like a lot of just drinking special coffees and watching our kids swim and play in a clean place. Think: lifting the weight of language, ministry, logistics off our shoulders and just sitting on a park bench chatting with our moms... very relaxing for us :)
We did stay right next to a reserve that had a bunch of kangaroos, though, so we trekked through there for an Aussie experience. (There is a kangaroo in the background.)
Zach got to take walks and pray with his mom which they both loved.
Boys got to go to a cool place with rock climbing, laser tag, and go karts:
The bay nearby was like lake water, but this pic captures how this girl feels about swimming:
For the second half of our trip, my dad and stepmom came and joined us!
So glad we got to make memories with them!
Our last day we were on our own and did dates with the kids. The girls and I ate ice cream and played at the splash pad:
The boys did an inflatable water park:
We flew back to Madang, bought and packed supplies (with much help from the Twomblys and Rucsios!), and are now settled back up at home in the village. We are so thankful for the time!
